Matt Gillies – Guitar, Effects, Vocals, Bass. Synth and Assorted Secret Weapons
Born in Huntsville Hospital on May 31st 1984 Matt was the first of two children raised in nearby Decatur, AL. Raised in a family that was quite supportive of crafts and assorted performance arts, Matt became comfortable performing in public at a young age. Through middle school he learned music by way of the Alto Saxophone. While that time spent was brief, it did lead him to the guitar. Where he made what he calls ”the best worst thing i could have done for my musical career.”
After deciding to dedicate all of his time to the guitar, Matt started forming different garage bands to crave his need to play and perform with others. As he he states “We could just play this music for each other, but where’s the fun in that? Let’s bring some people together.”
After meeting the rest of the guys that comprise this multi-faceted act, Matt devoted all his time to writing music for this project. Slowly after a few different line up changes, they’ve climbed onto the precipice of new sonic territories, where Improvised Jamming can Meld with Intense Composition.
Currently Matt also acts as the Founder and Head of Sandia’s Booking and Promotion Relations, as well as contributing to his own Singer/Songwriter project as well.
